CLV Calculator
Closing line value compares the price you took against the price the market finished at. Enter both and this returns the difference in de-vigged implied probability points — the unit that stays comparable across the whole odds range, unlike counting “cents”.

raw implied — opposite-side prices not supplied, so the book margin is still included
The two prices, side by side
Add the opposite side at both points to remove the book’s margin. Without it these are raw implied probabilities and both still carry the vig, so the difference between them is not a like-for-like comparison of fair prices.
A $100.00 stake at -110 returns $190.91 including stake, if it wins.
What this number means
The closing price implies a 2.16-point HIGHER raw implied (no opposite side supplied, so the margin is still in both numbers) probability than the price you took. That means the market moved toward your side after you bet: you took a longer price than the one available at the close. This describes the market's movement, not the outcome — the bet can still lose.
What closing line value is, and what it is not
- • It measures the market, not the result. CLV compares two prices for the same outcome at two moments. It says nothing about whether the bet won — a bet with positive CLV can lose and a bet with negative CLV can win.
- • Probability points, not cents. American prices are discontinuous across ±100 and are not linearly comparable: −105 to +105 is a ten-cent move but only about 4.8 probability points, while +200 to +220 is a twenty-cent move worth about 2.1. Counting cents compares different quantities; converting to probability first does not.
- • De-vig needs both sides. A single price still contains the sportsbook margin. Supplying the opposite side at entry and at close removes it, so the two numbers being compared are fair prices rather than marked-up ones. Without both sides this tool reports raw implied probabilities and says so on the result.
- • Same definition the rest of the site uses. Closing probability minus entry probability, positive meaning the price you took was longer than the close — the identical convention and the identical de-vig utilities used everywhere else here, so a number from this page means the same thing as a number stored anywhere else.
